Operation Smile

Vitol Ghana has been a supporter of Operation Smile since 2016. The organisation provides cleft palate surgery to children and adults who otherwise would not be able to access this transformational surgery that can delivered in around 45 minutes.

Operation Smile has over 3 decades of expertise and has provided hundreds of thousands of surgeries to correct cleft lips, cleft palate and other facial deformities.

Their work in Ghana started in 2011, and since then they have provided life-changing surgical care to more than 2,000 patients.

In addition to providing surgical procedures, Operation Smile also trains doctors and local medical professionals in Ghana so they treat local communities and share their expertise. In over 10 years, around 1000 health professionals have received training.
